National Code of Conduct on International Students
The Bergische Universität Wuppertal offers its more than 1000 international students excellent conditions and a hospitable environment for studying, as well as attractive career prospects. The university has a continuing interest in drawing qualified and motivated students to Wuppertal, ensuring that they complete their degree programs successfully, and maintaining contact with them afterwards.
Emphasis is therefore placed on the all-round support and guidance of international students, and in order to safeguard and enhance the quality of these services in the areas of advertising and recruitment, information and communication, admissions, evaluation and placement, as well as academic, linguistic, and social back-up, the university officially approved the “National Code of Conduct on International Students at German Universities” in February 2010.
The National Code was issued by the German University Rectors' Conference in November 2009 with a view to establishing common standards for the support of international students. With its assent to the Code, the university has bound itself to observe and maintain these standards.
A Complaints Office has been established to handle issues relating to breach of the National Code. You are requested to inform this office if you notice that the university is not acting in accordance with the Code or if you are directly affected by any breach of the Code. Over and above this, the university International Office is open to all concrete suggestions for improvement in the university’s support and consultation services. We look forward to hearing from you!
